No, a job offer is not required for Subclass 101. This visa is based on the parent-child relationship and eligibility criteria, not employment.

To apply for Subclass 101, you must lodge your application through the Department of Home Affairs. The application can be made online via ImmiAccount, or in some cases, on paper. You will need to submit documents such as the child’s birth certificate, proof of your Australian parent’s citizenship or permanent residency, and other supporting documents.

  • Health examination results.

The processing time for Subclass 101 can vary, but it typically takes between 12 to 18 months. Processing times depend on factors such as the volume of applications and the complexity of the case.

No, only the child can be included in the application. Parents and siblings would need to apply for a separate visa if they wish to come to Australia.

Yes, you must meet health and character requirements. This includes undergoing a medical examination and providing police clearance certificates from countries where you’ve lived for more than 12 months in the past 10 years (if the child is over the age of 16).

Subclass 101 is not points-based. Eligibility is determined based on the relationship with your Australian parent and meeting the health, character, and age requirements.

After you submit your application, the Department of Home Affairs will process it. You may be asked for additional documents or information. Once your application is processed and approved, you will be granted the Subclass 101 visa, allowing you to live in Australia permanently with your Australian parent.
